Cancer is one of the leading causes of deaths in India. About three million patients suffer from this disease, with a million new cases being reported every year. The disease is expected to rise five-fold by 2025.
Surgery is usually the primary method of treatment of most isolated solid cancers. It also plays a role in reaching a definitive diagnosis and staging the tumour.
Surgery can be indicated in cancer patients to relieve the symptoms, remove the affected tissues/ organs for preventing further damage or disability, and restore aesthetics. At AIMS, all presenting cases, primary or metastatic, are diagnosed and investigated by surgical teams streamlined into and specializing in organ specific services:
- Head & Neck Oncology
- Breast Oncology
- Gynaec-Oncology
- GI Oncology
- Uro-Oncology
- Thoracic Oncology
- Ortho-Oncology
- Paediatric Oncology
Department of Oncosurgery at AIMS Hospital offers both outpatient and inpatient services for screening, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer patients. Our aim is to assess and workout the treatment plan for the surgical services in oncology patients so that the survival rate is improved, recovery time is shortened, treatment-related side effects are minimized.
We identify patients who can benefit from surgery both at early and late stages and provide them surgical solutions that they appreciate and benefit from.
